One example in WPT’s lineup, where a product and application are ideally matched is on diesel-powered mobile equipment with WPT’s Pilotless™ Over-the-Shaft (OTS) PTO. If we were then to drill down even further, then mobile dust collection and truck-mounted vacuum machines would be a perfect example of where the features of the OTS really come into play.
Dust collection and vacuum equipment mostly require a remote engagement system. The driveline is encased and surrounded by structure and other key onboard systems. Therefore, it does not allow for a simple mechanical engagement method. In contrast, the features of the OTS allow for remote engagement, either by hydraulic or pneumatic means, with total flexibility regarding the control location.
The OTS is consistent with WPT’s Pilotless™ mechanical range with industry leading shaft capacities. These allow for heavily sideloaded right angle belt drives or inline applications using a coupling or cardan shaft. No pilot bearing in the flywheel eliminates loads being transferred up into the engine’s crankshaft. In addition, the self-adjusting clutch pack also delivers the user many benefits during operation and maintenance periods. The OTS can also operate under various pressures offering engagement flexibility.
WPT Power can even provide a standalone hydraulic system (HPU) with factory set pressures making integration simple and uncomplicated.
The OTS product can be retrofitted into existing equipment or designed in from new. Models to suit SAE#2 & 3 housings for 11.5” flywheels and SAE #0 & 1 for 14” flywheels.
