Can Safety Certifications Play a Role in Validating Your Purchase?

Safety Certificates

It’s helpful that some regional and universal safety certifications are granted to services and locations that meet specific safety standards. Are those certificates meaningful to customers? What’s the value of people and manufacturing facilities that have been thoroughly vetted for safety? How does prioritizing safety give consumers more confidence in their purchases? We’ll answer these questions and see how our work surroundings can impact production outcomes.

Not All Certifications are Created Equal.

Some safety award certifications are more rigorous and meaningful than others. Compromising safety requirements has never been WPT’s pursuit. That’s why WPT Power is proud to be recently awarded two distinguished recognitions. Both of these achievements are for continuously improving our work site’s safety and health management systems.

First is the Lone Star Safety Award by the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC). Lone Star Safety Award is for exemplary workplace safety efforts and low rates of work-related injuries and illnesses. This will be the third time WPT has been a recipient.

Secondly is the Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) award by the United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This is a significant achievement because only .01% (look at that percentage again) of 400,000 plus private-sector businesses in Texas are recognized for the SHARP award. WPT has received this designation for the fifth time.

Safety Focused Facilities a Value?

Demonstrating a commitment to high workplace safety standards, WPT believes additional layers of trust can be established between customers and manufacturers. The goal is to provide a workplace where employees feel safe, supported, and empowered to do their jobs effectively. A culture that pursues zero harm or risk to its people. An attentive and organized manufacturing environment helps prevent safety issues and distractions that otherwise compromise product quality.

The type of manufacturing environment can undoubtedly add to the confidence in purchasing products. If the manufacturing environment is safe, efficient, and maintained, it can help ensure that the product is built consistently and reliably. An environment they can confidentially focus on building quality into their products. Then sending those units into service on a range of applications from Agriculture to Steel & Metal Forming.

Certifications Can Provide Some Validation for Customers.

In summary, certifications can play a part in having product confidence, although not directly. This highlights an aspect most may need to think about. Safety certifications and awards are one of many reasons why our products make a difference. There are multiple direct factors in a decision to purchase, including the product’s design, quality of the raw materials used, and quality control processes, which are topics for another post.

WPT Power is committed to the employee’s safety and well-being, ultimately allowing their center of attention to be on the products built and shipped. Recognition of achievements and the work that goes into having a safe, efficient workplace can benefit you. It’s one of many ways we are working on expanding your confidence!
