WPT Earns 3rd SHARP Award From U.S. Department of Labor

WPT Power earns SHARP recognition

WPT Power Corporation has received a SHARP award from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This marks the third time the Wichita Falls, Texas, manufacturing facility has earned this recognition, which honors small to medium-sized employers for exemplary safety and health management practices.

“The safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and everyone who enters our facilities is our top priority,” said Roger Gardea, Safety Coordinator. “We are proud to be recognized for our team’s dedication to maintaining a safe work environment.”

Lane Brock, President, credited employee engagement as a key factor in achieving the award. “The main contributor to this success is our employees’ proactive involvement. Their commitment to identifying hazards, participating in ongoing training, and consistently following procedures helps ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and suppliers alike. WPT Power remains committed to reducing injuries and workplace hazards by continually improving, maintaining, and implementing best-in-class safety and health management practices.”

OSHA’s SHARP award is presented to small businesses with fewer than 500 employees that demonstrate exceptional workplace safety and health programs. To qualify, employers must request an on-site consultation, actively involve employees in safety initiatives, correct any identified hazards, and maintain injury and illness rates below the industry average. Since its inception in 1990, SHARP has advanced workplace safety through research, monitoring, and demonstration projects nationwide.
