
In today’s market, Tier 4 engine users commonly find themselves limited in applications that require a Power Take-Off (PTO) clutch. This could be because the engine is equipped with a non-SAE housing or because the engine flywheel does not have a stock pilot bearing bore to accommodate the PTO. Paired with the WPT Pilotless® PTO, our Tier 4 Engine Adapters offer a solution for users whose engines are equipped with non-standard housings or flywheels. The Tier 4 Engine Adaptors consist of two separate flywheel & housing rings. The housing adaptor is bolted to the bellhousing, which creates enough depth to mount the WPT Pilotless® PTO. As a result, an additional adapter must be installed to accommodate the distance between the flywheel and the PTO. Once the Tier 4 engine Adapters are installed, Tier 4 Engines can now utilize a PTO as required by applications.
The second major issue users of Tier 4 engines face is flywheels that are equipped with a standard pilot bearing bore. These non-standard flywheels do not allow for the traditional pilot-bearing PTO to be mounted to the engine without the creation of special adapters, which adds cost to the engine package.
