It typically produces about one-third of the nation’s total cotton crop, with the majority being Upland along with other varieties, namely Pima and Acala cotton. Texas’ warm temperatures, abundant sunshine, and fertile soil make it ideal for cotton cultivation. Another leading cotton production region area is in Australia. Approximately 66% of its cotton is grown in New South Wales and an additional 33% in Queensland.
