In applications where space and layout constraints arise, and the use of a Hydraulic or Pneumatic PTO with through shaft engagement is not possible (WPT’s Type 2 range), this is where WPT’s Pilotless® Over-the-Shaft (OTS) Power Take-Off comes into its own. While the design size of the OTS PTO is comparable to that of a traditional mechanical PTO’s, its capabilities go further, delivering hydraulic or pneumatic actuation through the bellhousing. Providing a direct drive solution reduces maintenance and improves overall equipment reliability.
WPT’s OTS, like most of our engine driven product line, is designed to fit directly to the engine’s flywheel and housing and follows our Pilotless® Mechanical PTO range in the fact it has no pilot bearing, as well as being able to cope with high side loads from belt drives or heavy-duty inline applications via a shaft or coupling.
Not only does the OTS provide a hydraulic or pneumatic actuation method, allowing for remote clutch operation, but it also has self-adjusting properties, resulting in less maintenance for operators in the field. WPT can also provide a separate stand alone HPU system to operate the clutch if required.

The OTS can be retrofitted to existing applications or can be offered new at the design stage. Available in 2 flywheel sizes, 11.5″ and 14″ with SAE housing sizes 2 & 3 for the 11.5″ and 0 & 1 for the 14″.
