The customer’s concerns stemmed from the amount of time spent installing a complicated drive system in their portable rock crushing plant. The power take-off had to be integrated into the machine’s hydraulic system, fit in the same footprint, and provide easier maintenance than the challenges they were currently experiencing.
WPT offered a solution to address those needs with our 500 PSI hydraulically actuated Type 2 Power Take-off mated with Hydraulic Clutch Control. WPT’s patented* Python™ Hydraulic Clutch Control (HCC) dealt with those issues because it uses a J1939 connection to read the engine’s output RPM to engage the PTO at the most beneficial rate for both the clutch and the engine. The HCC is an isolated, self-contained hydraulic power unit designed to provide smooth, efficient starts, reduce engine stalling, and increase engine and PTO lifespan. Our solution simplifies field service maintenance and eliminates the need for external cooling systems.
